Last weekend and the past week have been pretty nuts!
Last weekend was one of the busiest, most exciting weekends at home I have ever had!
Friday: All day Friday I had uni as usual, although at night I went to see the charming and talented Andy Bull with Sav. It was rather late when we got home, yet we had to wait up for our friend Lesley as we were going mountain climbing in the morning. We set the alarm and had a... uhrm... 1 hour nap, as we left at 2:30am to drive to Mt Ngungun. We arrived just in time for sunrise and it was glorious! (I only had my phone with me, so sorry about the quality of photos).
We then went to Lesley's parents house and had breakfast with the majority of her family. The rest of the day was spent lazing around and doing assignment work.
That night we went to a gig (still running on only an hours sleep) where several friends were playing - Zeek Power, Seavera and Weathered. But the thing that most excited me about that night was that I was going to meet a Flickr friend, Marcus MB from Denmark and his friend Patrik from Sweden. It was so great to meet both of them, and we instantly got along and they got along so well with my friends also. It made my heart so happy!
The next morning Sav, Adelaide and I went to Lesley's house to take photos for Adelaide's branding assignment. It was a ton of fun! First we iced some cakes, and then threw them at each others faces! You can see the final product, here. It is pretty brilliant!
The next week was filled with small adventures and assignment doing.
Later in the week I modelled for my friend Adam, and on the way home we saw the most incredibly beautiful sunset EVER!!!!
Which brings us to Friday. I handed in assignment 1/4 and went for a massive skate around the city with Marcus and Partik. We later went to Savannah's house, watched movies and showed the boys the ways of the Tim Tam. It was hilarious to watch.
After a few hours hike and a few pit stops (one for Marcus to take a photo and several to catch our breath), we finally arrived at the Lower Portals - a beautiful boulder filled scape with fresh water running between. After realising that there was a gap in the rocks we had to climb through, we finally made it to the swimming hole! It was an incredible spot with a fairly large body of fresh water, small waterfalls and gigantic rocks to jump off - as Marcus called said, it was a photographers playground.
We swam in the icy water for a good hour or so, and took several photos. It was a brilliant day.
OH! Also, I took a few photos which will be a series about being connected to your surroundings. Please check them out on my Flickr.
But now I am back to locking myself in my room, doing assignments.
I hope you are all well.
